                         Two swept away in flash flood

    Borgaon, July 15: Two children, a boy of 13 and a girl of 11 were swept away in a flash

 flood caused by heavy rains at Borgaon, in the upper Assam district of Sivasagar. Most of the

 flood affected people were rescued and shifted to the relief camps. The district administration 

sought the help of the SDRF team and  local youths in the rescue operation. However, the 

bodies of the children were  not found yet.

          Imagine that a flood occurs in your area. Now, write a newspaper report on it. Give a

                                     Majuli Reeling in Severe Flood 
 Majuli, 20th July

   About  30,000 people in more than 500 villages in Majuli district are reeling in one of the worst floods in the state. The embankment of the Brahmaputra has been breached at several places. More than 35,000 hectares of paddy fields have been submerged and damaged. The rescue operation has been going on in full swing and army soldiers have been called in and pressed into service to help the civil relief camps. Both government and non-government organizations have been providing relief to the affected people.

4. Write a  diary entry describing what did you do yesterday and your plan for tomorrow.

Last day I spent:

  I got up at 5.30 in the morning and after taking a walk for about 15 minutes I took a cup of tea. After attending nature's call I start reading. I remained busy with studies till about 8.30. Then took bath and meal I started for school. Our school begins at 9.30. I remained at school till 3.30 pm. Returning from school I took some light food and play with my friends for about an hour. Then coming back home I enjoy the T.V. Programmes till about 7.30 pm. I did my homeworks. We took supper at about 9:00 pm.

Plan for the next day:

(i) Go for regular tuition classes.

(ii) Going to my friend's birthday 

(iii) going for computer class.

(iv) Maths revision 

(v) reading english poem.
