Located in Sivasagar district in Assam, Panidihing is famous for Panidihing Wildlife Sancuary. It is 22 km. away from Sivasagar town. This protected area was established as a Bird Sanctuary in 1996 by the Government of Assam.

Ans: Floods affect wildlife, especially in the following ways:

1. Habitat destruction due to massive floods is a major impact that leads to the loss of many animal lives.

2. Protected species are even more vulnerable for their small number such as Rhinoceros.

3. Loss of vegetation leads to loss of food for the animals and starvation leads them to man-human conflict.

It causes a loss to habitat so the animal and birds are left bereft of homes.

This in turn affects the breeding of animals and nurturing the young ones thereof.
