There  was  a  sea  of  tea  bushes  under  sturdy  shade  trees  .  Doll like  figures  were  seen  busily  moving  amidst  orderly  rows  of  tea  bushes  .  At  a  distance  was  seen  the  factory  billowing  out  smoke  from  its  tall  chimney .

Ans :  On  her  way  Valli  saw  a  young  cow  ,  tail  high  in  the  air  ,  was  running  very  fast  ,  right  in  the  middle  of  the  road  ,  right  in  front  of  the  bus  . The  bus  slowed  to  a  crawl  and  the  driver  sounded  his  horn  loudly  again and  again . Ans : After received  Lencho's  letter ,the  postmaster  wanted  to  keep  Lencho's  faith   in  God . For  this  he  answered  the  letter  and  collected  money  from  his  employees  , several  friends  along  with a  part  of  his  salary. He  sent  that  money  for  an  act  of  charity to  Lencho who  asked  for  hundred pesos .

16. How  did  Custard  the  Dragon  save  Belinda  from  the  pirate ? 

Ans :  Custard, the little red dragon, jumped in front of the pirate and initiated snorting like an engine. Hardy Custard stirred his tail and made sound like the metal chains in a dungeon and went after the pirate like a robin at a worm. Then Custard conflicted with the pirate and slaughtered the pirate. This was how Custard saved Belinda from the pirate attack.

Ans  :  Bill  who  is  Oliver  Lutkins  himself  is  definitely  more  intelligent  that  the  gullible  lawyer  .  As soon  as  Bill learnt  that  the  lawyer had  come  to  New  Mullion to serve  a  summon on Oliver  Lutkins, he  decided disguise as a hack  driver  and  offered  to  help  the  lawyer  find  out  Lutkins  .  Bill  behaved  in  such  a  way  that  the  lawyer  was  all  praise  of  him  .  The  lawyer  was  pleased  with  not  only  Bill  ,  but  also  with  the  people of  New  Mullion  whom  he  thought  to be  very  plain and  simple  people  . Bill  led  the  lawyer  to  Fritz’s  shop  ,  to  Gustaff’s  and Gray’s  barber  shops  and  even  to  Lutkin’s  mother  in his  farmhouse  .  They  are  together  and moved  through  the  town  together.  Yet  the  lawyer  failed  to  recognize  him  . It  was  one  of  the  following  morning  when  the lawyer  accompanied  by one  of  Lutkin’s  former  coworker went to  New  Mullion  ,  Bill  could  be  identified  as  more  but  Lutkin’s  himself  . The  activities  of  Bill ,  Specially  how  he  duped  the  lawyer  prove  him  a  more  intelligent  person  and  a  practical  man  .

Ans :    Horace  Danby  was  thought  to be a  good  man  and  honest  citizen . He  was  about  fifty  years  old  and  unmarried  . He  lived  with  a  house – keeper  who  was  very  much  worried  about  his  health.  Usually  he  was  very  well and  happy  except  for  attacks  of  hay  fever  in  summer  . He  was  by  profession  a  lock  maker  .  His  business was  successful  and  he  employed  two  helpers  . Danby  was  good  and  respectable  but  not  complete  by  honest .

Fifteen years  ago, Horace  Danby  had  served  his  first  and  only  sentence  in  prison  library  . He  loved  rare  expensive  books  .  So  , every  year  he  robbed  a  safe  .  Every year  he  planned  about  what  he  would  do.  He  would  steal  enough  money  to last  for  twelve  months . Then  he  would  buy  the  books  through  an  agent  .  So  ,it  may  be  said  that  he  was  not  completely  honest  because  no   honest  man  would  stel  over  to  buy  books  or  anything  her  loves.

Ans :   After  Griffin’s  adventure  in  the London  Store  ,  he  decided  to try  the  stock  of  a  theatrical  company  .  His  hope  was  to  find  some new  clothes  and  something  that  would  hide  the  space above  his  soldiers  .  Shivering with  cold  he  hurried  to  Drury Lane  , the  centre  of  the  theatrical  world  .  Soon  he  found  a  suitable  shop  .  He  made  his  way  upstairs  in  the  same  invisible  state . After  a  little  while  he  came  out  wearing  bandages  round  his  forehead , dark glass , false  nose , big  bushy  side-whiskers  and a  large  hat  .  To  escape  without  being  seen  he  attracted  the  shopkeeper  from  behind  .  Then  he  robbed  him  of  all  the  money  he  could  get  .
